In 1965, the now late James (Jim) Kendall and his wife, Elfie, bought Interior Customs Brokers in Prince George, British Columbia. They moved to Vancouver in 1987 to run Lee and Drummond Customs Brokers. In 1993, Lee and Drummond merged with five other brokerage firms in British Columbia and Northern Canada to become Summit Customs Brokers & Trade Consultants, one of the largest customs brokers in the province. Since then, Summit has grown to establish offices in Vancouver at YVR airport (Head Office), Pacific Highway, Osoyoos, Vernon, Kelowna, Penticton, and Whitehorse.

Today, we pride ourselves in helping businesses handle imports through all modes of transport — truck, rail, ship, and air — no matter which province your goods enter Canada. Summit is accomplished in serving the aviation and wine industries with consulting, customs clearances, refunds, duty drawbacks, appeals and all customs-related issues. We have not forgotten our ties to providing service locally. We believe strongly in giving back to the community and participate in a variety of charitable events, such as our very popular annual Softball Slam, with all proceeds going to the Hope for Kids charity.

Summit has been dedicated to serving British Columbia, including the YVR airport community, for more than 25 years. Nobody would be more proud today than its original founder, Jim Kendall. Several of his family are still employed by Summit Customs Brokers & Trade Consultants to this day — why Jim’s vision still carries on with our focus on excellence in customs brokerage.
