There have been significant updates ahead of the CARM transition in October (CN-24-27). These include revised procedures for submitting Duties Relief Program applications, drawback claims, and commercial temporary importations (CN-24-28). Additionally, a new 25% surtax on steel and aluminum products from China has been introduced. Stakeholders are also reminded of the upcoming regulatory changes for steel imports, specifically the requirement for Country of Melt and Pour (COM) information, which will be mandatory for clearance starting November 5, 2024.
